CHINHOYI CAVES RECREATIONAL PARK
Historically, the first white man believed to have discovered the Caves was Frederick Selous, the famous European hunter, during his wanderings in 1887. It was believed that prior to that the Caves were being used as a stronghold by an outlaw called Nyamakwere who murdered many victims by throwing them into the ‘’Silent Pool’’.

LAKE CHIVERO RECREATIONAL PARK
Lake Chivero Recreational Park is about 6 100 hectares in extent including the 16 km long lake.The shoreline of the entire water body covers approximately 48 kilometres. The lake area holds about 250 000 million litres of water and is approximately 26sq km (2 632 ha).

Kyle Recreational Park is 16 900 hectares in extent. Of the total Park area, 9 300 hectares is occupied by the lake (Lake Mutirikwi) at full supply level. The dam was constructed in 1960 and that same year the Park was established.

OSBORNE DAM RECREATIONAL PARK
Osborne Dam is the largest lake in the Manicaland region and is one of the major inland lakes in Zimbabwe. The large lake covers in excess of 2 600 hectares of land with a carrying capacity of over 400 million cubic metres of water. The lake stretches for 16 kilometres up to the Odzi River and 15 kilometres along its Nyatande tributary.

SEBAKWE RECREATIONAL PARK
Sebakwe Recreational Park is situated in the Midlands of Zimbabwe and is easily accessed by all regions of the country.Initially built with a small dam, an enlargement project was undertaken in 1981 to increase the size of the lake. After the enlargement, the main wall including the spillway, had been lengthened from 225 metres to 305 metres. The maximum height of the dam was raised to 47,2 metres. Consequently, the maximum depth of the water increased from 33,3 metres to 39,4 metres. The surface area of the water body became 2 600 hectares from the original 1 510 hectares, making it one of the largest in-land dams in Zimbabwe.
