Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority Director General Mr. Vitallis Chadenga has stressed the need to be professional and diligent as the Authority’s managers discharge their duties in 2012.This he said at the Authority’s Head Office where he was addressing a senior management meeting.

Mr. Chadenga challenged managers to acquit themselves diligently and urged them discharge their duties professionally even in the most difficult environment. He however warned undisciplined and corrupt officers that their actions will have consequences .Admitting that the year 2011 was challenging Mr Chadenga are confident that the year ahead is better and brighter.

He expressed concern at poaching levels which he said most of it had been localized but fired warning shots to would be poachers that the authority will be equal to the task.Mr Chadenga emphasized the need to balance conservation and commercial activities.

 

Managers who participated at the meeting were drawn from the Authority’s Western, Southern, Central and Northern Regions as well as Head Office. Also present at the meeting were the Director Conservation Mr. E.Chidziya, Director Commercial Services Ms T.Musonza and Director Human Resources ,Finance and Administration Mrs R.Nyahwa.
